We took a road trip to Ann Arbor so Nick could interview at the University of Michigan for Plastics.
We left the house at 4:30 AM, drove to Ann Arbor. Nick went inside the cancer hospital to change his clothes, then we drove over to the main hospital where his interview was. The kids were literally chanting and cheering "Daddy! Daddy!" as we dropped him off, which was both encouraging and adorable.
Part of the reason we came for the trip was so that I could do some of the driving so Nick wouldn't be too sleep deprived at the interview or at work tomorrow. But a big part of it was so that we could see Nick and have fun in Ann Arbor. The kids and I spent the day at the Hands On Museum while Nick was interviewing.
We left as soon as Nick was finished and headed home. We did stop for dinner at a toll-way oasis, where we crowned Philip as King. I think we got home about 11.
