2013/06/06 Thursday: Every Day She Wants to Swim

The hardest part of Henry's swim lessons is dealing with a toddler who is mad that she can't get into the pool.

2013/06/05 Wednesday: Swimming Day 3

Nick is getting things back in order at the hospital his residency is based at, and stopped by swim lessons on his way back to his research hospital.  It's one of those things that we have to enjoy while we can.

Henry insisted I photograph his favorite toys, so here we have Pupcake and blue helicopter, a still life.
Pupcake was a toy a previous occupant left behind at a rented beach house, and is named after Strawberry Shortcake's dog.  The blue helicopter was a quarter at a neighbor's garage sale.

2013/06/04 Tuesday: Day 2 of Swim Lessons

He's not enthusiastic about swim lessons, but we made it back to the second day and still haven't had a meltdown.  It's going much better than I expected, even if he is the most reluctant child, and won't get his head wet or let go of the side of the pool.

2013/06/03 Monday: Headed South

We took a group picture before we let Stan and Patti return to STL.  I keep looking at this and think that for some reason I had put my hand on Stan's shoulder, but it's Patti's hand.

Highlights from their visit included visiting Millennium Park, seeing "Million Dollar Quartet", eating at Smoque, and Patti guiding my curtain projects that only make any progress when she's around.

Liz is packing her bags for tomorrow, and it seems Henry wants to go with her.

2013/06/02 Sunday: Chicago, I'll Show You Around

After we saw Patti with her peach cobbler from Smoque, other people had to get one too.

We got the best parking space ever.  We had to commemorate it with a photo.

The end of a lovely day together, and the start of a great evening.

2013/06/01 Saturday: We Must Have Company

You can tell we have company, because we are at Portillo's for lunch.  We limit ourselves to only eating there with out of town guests.
The party really got started when we picked up my mom and Liz at the airport.  The real party is just that we are together, but Portillo's doesn't hurt either.

2013/05/31 Friday: Evidence of a Toddler, and the Party Started

Lots of stuff happening, but somehow I didn't take any pictures!  Georgia knocked over this plant.  No one was surprised.

Stan and Patti came up to visit from St Louis.  They got yesterday just in time to enjoy dinner with us and our next door neighbors.  We asked our neighbors over since their kitchen is out of commission, and they are awesome in general.

Today we survived IKEA.  The kids have been fighting over the egg timer we bought.  Why didn't I get two?? I knew this would happen, yet I never learn.
